Celebrating a Milestone: Two Bronze Awards at the 2024 International Pet Photography Awards

Every so often, we get those moments in life where hard work, passion, and a bit of luck come together in just the right way. I’m beyond honored to share that two of my images were awarded Bronze at the 2024 International Pet Photography Awards!

This year, I entered six images, each one carefully chosen to reflect both the heart and art of my work with Northern Michigan pet families. Four of these photos didn’t win an award, but I’m proud to say that they all met the pro standard, a personal goal of mine. The awards competition brings together incredible photographers from around the world, and let me tell you, the level of talent and creativity is nothing short of awe-inspiring. So to win two bronze awards felt like a nod from the pet photography community—a recognition that my work resonates, not just with the families I serve, but with those who understand the art and challenge of capturing these bonds. It’s a reminder of why I do what I do, and how every photo session is about celebrating the love, laughter, and loyalty pets bring into our lives.

Entering my work to the International Pet Photography Awards was, to be honest, a little intimidating. Pet photography is such a specialized field with so many talented artists, but I saw this as a chance to challenge myself and learn from the very best. The judges—some of the top pet photographers globally—offered valuable feedback on each entry, pushing me to keep refining my craft. I’m truly grateful for their insights, which inspire me to continually grow as an artist and serve the pet families of Northern Michigan even better.

Thank you to everyone who’s trusted me to capture your pets’ unique personalities and tell their stories—it’s all of you and your pets who inspire me to keep refining my craft. Here’s to many more portraits, each one a new chance to create memories that last a lifetime!
