Northern Michigan Pet Photographer

Hi, I’m Amanda.

The human behind the lens here at ALP.

If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. Fun fact: as a kid, I proudly told everyone I wanted to be a dog when I grew up. Turns out, that’s a tough career path—so I became a pet photographer instead. Pretty solid compromise, if you ask me!

I’ve always been a bit of a pet paparazzi (don’t worry, the twelve-year-old Amanda cat photo collection stays in the vault). But my true journey into pet photography started with my soul dog, Lupin. He was my tiny Australian Shepherd prince, my shadow, my heart. For twelve years, he made my world brighter, and when I lost him suddenly in 2022, I realized just how important it is to have tangible memories of the ones we love most.

Lupin’s paw print is woven into my brand because he is still at the heart of everything I do. His memory reminds me why these moments matter—and why every pet deserves to be celebrated.

Heidi says…

“[Amanda] was accommodating and understanding of my dog’s needs. [She] made her feel very comfortable and they were fast friends. The photos were beautiful and she captured my dog’s personality. I couldn’t love her photos more. I’d highly recommend Amanda for your pet photography needs.”

I want you to know…

For me, animals always come first. Every session moves at their pace—breaks, playtime, and plenty of treats included. No pressure, no stress—just a relaxed, joyful experience.

Your dog can do this! Whether they’re a pro at sit-stay or have zero training, I’ve got it covered. I can remove leashes in post-processing, use a long lens for nervous pups, and take all the time we need. You and your pet are my only priority that day.

This will be fun! Whether your dog loves running on the beach, laying fetch in the park, or strolling downtown, we’ll plan a session that captures their personality in the most beautiful way.

You will love the photos we create. And if for some reason you don’t? We’ll reshoot. These are the memories you’ll treasure forever—I want you to be over-the-moon thrilled with them.

Let’s create some magic with your best friend.
