Cherryland Humane Society Pet Calendar Contest
Amanda Lewis Photography is excited to partner with Cherryland Humane Society for our second annual pet calendar contest in 2025!
Cherryland Humane Society provides a safe harbor for the animals entrusted to them as they strive to find them responsible, loving, and permanent homes while advancing the well-being of animals. They consider and accommodate, as much as possible, the physical, emotional, behavioral, and social well-being of each animal from that individual animal’s perspective. All of the proceeds from the sale of the calendar along with entry and voting donation fees throughout the photo contest will go directly to Cherryland Humane Society to assist in its mission of providing essential care, medical treatment, and a chance for a better life for animals in our community!
How It Works
Enter Your Pet: Upload your favorite photo of your pet for a $5 donation.
Rally the Votes: Share your pet’s entry and encourage friends and family to vote ($1 per vote) to help your pet climb to the top of the leaderboard.
Win Big: The 13 pets with the most votes will win a professional photography session with Amanda Lewis Photography and a feature in the 2026 Cherryland Humane Society Calendar. The pet with the most votes will also snag the coveted cover spot!
Mini-Contests & Weekly Prizes
Throughout the contest, we’ll host mini-contests to keep the fun and excitement going! Each week, the pet with the most new votes for that week will win a fabulous prize, generously donated by local pet-friendly businesses.
Why Participate?
Every dollar raised through this contest goes directly to Cherryland Humane Society, supporting their mission to provide a safe harbor for homeless pets and find them loving, forever homes. Last year, we raised more than $17,000—and this year, we’re aiming even higher with a goal of $20,000!
Also, there is nothing more fun than a photoshoot with your dog, and the icing on the cake is they’ll become a local celebrity as one of our calendar superstars! 🤩

I’m Amanda Lewis, a Traverse City-based pet photographer and passionate advocate for animals. Capturing the love and joy pets bring into our lives is at the heart of what I do, and I’m thrilled to once again partner with Cherryland Humane Society for this incredible fundraiser. I can’t wait to see all the adorable pets that enter the contest this year!

Absolutely, but there is a limit of one pet per photo entry. Each pet must be entered into the contest individually. People are not allowed in photos, only your pet. Photos that do not follow the rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.

All breeds from all backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to enter. Submit your favorite photo of your pets and ask your family and friends to vote for them!

The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2026 calendar! 2nd - 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Amanda Lewis Photography for the 2026 calendar. All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a full session and/or purchase products following their session if desired.
Additionally, one pet each week who receives the highest number of new votes for a particular week will win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating weekly mini-contest prize-sponsoring businesses.

Honor your pet or celebrate a gotcha-day or birthday by reserving an empty grid space (before or after the numbered squares) for their photo. Choose a favorite photo, a month, and pay. Each month has a limited number of squares in each grid and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

Complimentary calendar contest mini sessions will be held on pre-determined dates in April & May 2025 at a pre-determined outdoor location. Upgraded calendar contest sessions will be held at select locations throughout the Grand Traverse area between April and July 2025. Exact details will be provided to winners upon completion of the calendar contest.

All proceeds from contest entries and votes along with subsequent calendar sales directly support Cherryland Humane Society with rescuing and re-homing animals in Traverse City and the surrounding areas.

Amanda Lewis Photography specializes in beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork to celebrate the bond between pets and their people.
Calendars are not included with the session but may be purchased when they become available online in late 2025. All calendar sale proceeds are donated to Cherryland Humane Society.
