Frequently Asked Questions

  • All dogs from all backgrounds are welcome to apply!

  • Absolutely. Most of the dogs I photograph are on-leash during our sessions. With the magic of Photoshop, I am able to remove them during post-processing.

  • This experience is for all personality types! Your dog does NOT need to be the most well-trained, well-behaved dog to participate. I have many tricks up my sleeve to get beautiful images of your dog, no matter their obedience level.

  • Only 10 dogs will be chosen to be included in Tails of the World: Volume Three. That means only one dog per application will be chosen. If you would like to submit more than one dog to be considered for the project, please apply for each individual dog. If accepted and you’d like to include more than one dog in your session, you are welcome to upgrade to the full session experience!

All accepted applicants will have the option to upgrade their session to a full session experience for an additional fee of $95. The full session experience allows for more flexibility in location and scheduling, the option to include additional dogs from your household, and a choice of a complimentary 5x7 gift print OR a $200 credit toward artwork.

Please note that only the accepted dog is guaranteed to be featured in the book.

  • Sessions will be scheduled on select dates in June, July, and August 2024. Sessions will be held roughly 2 hours before sunset. Exact locations are TBD but will take place in the Traverse City and surrounding Northwestern Michigan areas, in beautiful locations showing off the area’s beauty!

  • Absolutely. If this is something you’re looking for, you will want to upgrade to the full session experience to allow for enough time to create portraits alongside your dog.

Please note that only dogs will be submitted to be featured in Tails of the World: Volume Three, but these types of portraits make for wonderful memories to cherish the special bond your share with your dog!

  • Absolutely, and while there is no obligation, many Tails of the World participants choose to!

Amanda Lewis Photography specializes in beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork that celebrates the magic and joy your pet brings into your life and the special love and bond that you share.

Prints, products, and digital files are not included with the session but may be purchased during an optional image reveal and ordering appointment following your session.
